Second Helping, Inc. to Provide Hunger Relief in Richland Township

Second Helping, Inc. will launch its hunger relief program in Richland Township next month to help combat hunger issues in Hemlock and surrounding areas.

Richland Township is located in the northwestern section of Saginaw County, and its proximity to Midland County, Bay County, and Gratiot County should help some food-insecure residents of those areas to benefit from the free food giveaway.

Rob Grose, Richland Township Manager, said “Many mid-Michiganders continue to experience sticker shock at their local grocery stores.  We’re grateful that Second Helping will provide some relief to hungry people in our communities.”

Second Helping, Inc. will work with the Hemlock Business Association (HBA) to publicize its first food distribution event in Richland Township and organize event volunteers.

Samanta Turner, owner of Custom Style Salon and Vice President of Hemlock Business Association added “We’re hopeful that Second Helping’s event will be well-received by those who need the most help in our community.”

The free drive-thru mobile pantry food distribution event will be held on May 7 at 9:30 AM at Richland Township Park, located at 486 Blumke Drive in Hemlock.
